WHAT EXACTLY IS GRIND AND SEAL FLOORING?
The grind and seal method is a quick and affordable way to revamp concrete floors. As opposed to polished concrete — where a slab must be expertly poured by a professional concreter and mechanically polished — grind and seal works with an existing concrete floor. A sealant is applied to the surface, after it has been ground back.
A grind and seal can be performed quickly, results in a rustic, industrial look, and is usually the most affordable flooring option.

The longevity of epoxy flooring depends on many factors like the quality of the epoxy, the concrete preparation, where it’s installed, and the hazards it faces. The good news is epoxy that’s installed well can last up to 20-25 years in a garage or basement. Just keep in mind your epoxy will need a new clearcoat every 5 to 7 years or so to maintain its appearance and performance. Epoxy can even last 10+ years in more demanding commercial settings.
Because of the fast application there is only a minimal work interruption; Epoxy floors are very easy to maintain. After all, the floors are seamless and liquid-tight and therefore easy to clean, benefiting hygiene; Epoxy floors combine well with underfloor heating.
Epoxy is resistant to mold and bacteria, making it an ideal floor surface for allergy sufferers. In addition, if correctly applied, epoxy will last far longer than most traditional floor coverings.
